Compass — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 31, 2026
Compass — Life Balance Wheel (“the app”) is made by Sunlit Game Studio LLC (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what the app collects, which is nothing.
The short version
- We collect nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server. We have no way to see anything you write.
- The app makes no network requests at all. Not to us, not to anyone. It works fully offline, permanently.
- No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party code of any kind.
- Everything lives on your device. Deleting the app deletes it.
What stays on your device
All of it, and only on your device:
- Your answers to the bearings check, and the wheel derived from them
- Every past check, so you can compare how the shape has moved
- Anything you write at the campfire
- The name you gave yourself, and any summit you named on the map
- Your answers to the optional “Where you actually stand” questions, including which country you chose
These are stored locally on the device using Apple’s own on-device database, plus one small file in a shared app container so the home-screen widget can draw your wheel. Neither is readable by us or by any other app.
“Where you actually stand”
This optional mode compares your answers against published figures — air quality, household income, working hours, physical activity and life evaluation. Those figures are compiled from public datasets and ship inside the app. Nothing is fetched, and nothing about you is sent anywhere in order to produce a reading. Choosing a country tells the app which figures to read out of its own bundle; that choice is stored on your device like everything else.
Notifications
Optional, and only offered after you’ve completed a second bearings check. If you allow them, the app schedules a small number of local notifications — created on your device by iOS, with no server involved — to mention that a season has turned and it may be a good time to check again. You can decline, and you can turn them off at any time in iOS Settings or in the app.
What we do NOT collect
No name, email address, phone number or postal address. No location — the app never asks for or reads your device’s location, and choosing a country is something you type, not something it detects. No contacts, photos, health data, or financial data. No device identifiers, no advertising identifier, no crash reporting, and no usage analytics. There is no login because there is nothing to log in to.
Purchases and advertising
There are none. Compass is free, has no in-app purchases, and shows no ads.
Children
Compass is a general-audience app. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children, and contains no ads, no purchases and no way to communicate with other people.
Your choices and rights
- Delete everything: delete the app. Because nothing is stored anywhere else, that removes all of it, permanently and immediately.
- Notifications: decline the prompt, or turn them off later in the app’s settings or in iOS Settings.
- Laws such as the GDPR (EEA/UK) and CCPA (California) give you rights to access, correct, export or delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to hand over or erase. We do not sell personal information, and we never have.
Apple
The app is distributed through the App Store under Apple’s own terms. Any data Apple collects as the distributor is covered by Apple’s privacy policy, not this one.
Changes
We’ll update this page and the “last updated” date above if this policy changes. If a future version of the app ever collects anything at all, this page will say so before that version ships.
