ImSunlit — Privacy Policy

ImSunlit has no account, no sign-up, and no backend server. Everything you write stays on your device. There is no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.

Your Days Stay on Your Device

Your entries, moods, photos, favourites, and settings are saved locally on your device only. They are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, we have no way to read them, and they are removed when you delete the app.

Location and the Sky

ImSunlit can ask once for your location, for one reason: to make the background sky match your real local sunrise, sunset, and weather. The permission is optional and requested by iOS itself — if you decline, the app works fully and simply shows a default sky.

If you allow it, your sunrise and sunset times are calculated on your device — nothing leaves it for that. Two things do involve the network:

Weather. To tint the sky for the current conditions, your coordinates are rounded to roughly 11 km (one decimal place) and sent to Open-Meteo, a free weather service. The request needs no account or API key and carries nothing that identifies you or your device. If it fails, the sky simply renders without the weather tint.
The place name. The city shown in the corner of the sky is looked up with Apple’s built-in geocoding service on iOS; see Apple’s own privacy documentation for how that works. ImSunlit adds no tracking on top of it.

Your location is never stored on our servers (we have none), never linked to your identity, and never used for tracking or advertising.

Photos

ImSunlit only accesses your photo library if you choose to add a photo to a day, and only the photo you pick. Photos you add are stored on your device with the rest of your entries and are never uploaded anywhere.

No Advertising, Analytics, or Third-Party SDKs

ImSunlit shows no ads, includes no analytics, and contains no third-party tracking SDKs. Nothing about how you use the app is measured or reported.

No Third-Party Sharing

Because ImSunlit collects no personal data, there is none to share with, sell to, or disclose to any third party.

Children’s Privacy

ImSunlit does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.

Changes to This Policy

Updated versions of this Privacy Policy will be posted at this URL.
