TailEnd — Privacy Policy

TailEnd (“the app”) is made by Sunlit Game Studio LLC (“we,” “us”). It is an offline life calendar. This policy explains what the app stores and where it goes: it stays on your device.

The short version

• We collect nothing. There is no account, sign-in, server, or cloud service operated by us.
• No analytics, tracking, advertising, crash reporting, or remote updates. We do not receive information about how you use the app.
• Your records stay on your device. Deleting the app removes its local data, unless you have separately shared an export or backup.
• You control sharing. Photos, documents, exports, backups, and help links are opened only when you choose them.

What TailEnd stores on your device

TailEnd stores its records locally in its on-device database and app documents. These can include:

• Your birthdate and app settings
• The text and photos you add to captures
• The people, eras, and intentions you create

We cannot see or retrieve these records. They are not sent to us; you can choose to export or share them yourself.

Photos, documents, sharing, and links

TailEnd uses iOS’s system photo picker, document picker, and share sheet only after you ask it to. The app can access only the photo or file you select; it does not browse your library or files on its own. When you choose to share an export or backup, iOS hands it to the destination you choose. That destination’s privacy practices then apply.

Help links open only when you tap them. Opening a link is a normal request to the website you chose, which has its own privacy policy; TailEnd does not send your records with that request.

Backups and restore

You may create and share a JSON backup yourself. A backup includes settings, capture metadata, people, and eras. It does not include photo files or intentions. Keep any backup private if its contents are sensitive.

Restoring a backup replaces the existing local records covered by the backup and clears all local intentions. It does not restore photo files or intentions, because they are not in the backup. Restore is a local action; TailEnd does not upload the backup to us.

Notifications

TailEnd may ask whether it can send an optional weekly notification. If you allow it, the notification is scheduled locally by iOS. No notification service or server is involved, and you can turn notifications off later in the app or in iOS Settings.

What we do not collect

TailEnd does not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, device identifiers, advertising identifier, usage data, diagnostics, or crash reports. It does not use advertising, analytics, remote updates, or any backend service. It makes no app-initiated network requests.

Age gate and children

TailEnd is not available to people under 16: the age gate refuses access before the app can be used. For people ages 16 and 17, TailEnd uses its “wonder mode.” Regardless of age, the app collects no personal information from users.

Your choices and rights

• Delete local data: delete the app to remove its local records from your device.
• Export or back up: create a backup or share an export when you choose; take care where you send it.
• Notifications: decline permission or turn them off later in the app or iOS Settings.
• We hold no personal data, do not sell or share personal information, and cannot access or delete your local records for you.

Apple and this website

Your device backup settings may include TailEnd data in a device backup managed by Apple or by you. Those backups are separate from TailEnd’s JSON export. Deleting the app does not delete copies you have exported or copies retained in device backups.

Apple distributes TailEnd through the App Store. Information Apple collects as distributor is covered by Apple’s privacy policy. This policy describes the TailEnd app. Our website has its own privacy practices, including aggregated site analytics, described in the site-wide Privacy Policy.

Changes

We will post an updated policy and change the date above if TailEnd’s privacy practices change.
